Glendale

The Glendale area and Armenian, Caucasian, Latino samples

imageGlendale is the third largest city (a 30.5 square-mile area) in Los Angeles County. Surrounded by the San Gabriel Mountains, it lies 8 miles northeast of Los Angeles with three major freeways traversing the city. Glendale is an ethnically diverse area, and about half of the population of 200,000 residents is foreign born. According to the 2000 Census reports, non-Hispanic White residents (excluding Armenians) constitutes 35 percent of the population, while 21 percent of the population is Armenian, 20 percent is Hispanic, and 16 percent is Asian, from a range of countries of origin.
